Varför har en massa bilder försvunnit?
We can't see your machine, much less read your mind. We rely on you to give us enough information so that we can understand your issue if we are to help. We need a full description of the issue, information on what devices or machines you're referring to, the operating system (and version of it) currently on the machine. What you expect to happen, and where it fails. Err on giving too much information rather than too little.
Iphone 16e, photos of 2022 went missing after i clicked fast on some button iphone popped up. Most is saved on snapchat memories, videos are saved in library but not photos. I have always have storage on icloud so im afraid that my babies pictures are forever gone. Cant find anything on icloud so i dont know what button i accidently pressed on. Bad english, im swedish.

I can't tell what you did, either. (I'm still wondering what I agreed to when I went by some button from the new Maps view when I just needed the Map!) You didn't say where else you looked, but any normal deletion would send the pictures to Recently Deleted. Another possibility could be that the were marked "Hidden" and can only be seen in the Hidden album, located in Utilities. (In iOS26, Utilities is in the Collections section.)
Another type of thing you might have done is to change the sorting. I usually sort pictures by Date Captured, but that can be changed to Date Added
If you changed the sorting, then the pictures might not be where you expect.
Another possibility is that you set a Filter
to see only the videos, for instance.

Om du ändrade sorteringen kanske bilderna inte är där du förväntar dig.
En annan möjlighet är att du ställer in ett filter
för att bara se videorna, till exempel.

Yeah not those.. i still have the most on snapchat memories but i dont understand what button i pressed on. Seems like its gone forever but why did it save the videos and not the pictures.. if i didnt have space for an example.
I've never lost a set of pictures like this. Having a filter set would explain the videos. Do the videos play?
Some pictures that are transferred from a computer behave rather differently.
Do you use "Optimize Storage" for Photos? Optimized pictures will be deleted when turning off iCloud Photos, but there would be a warning, and they would still be at iCloud.com.
By the way, iCloud is not a backup-- it's a synchronization service that allows pictures to be shared identically among multiple devices. iCloud copies mistakes as easily as it copies pictures, so it doesn't really work as a backup. To have a backup, we export pictures to an external drive.
Yeah they play. Its just pictures from like may 2021-october 2022 that its missing. Only videos there and i dont know when i clicked on the button but i would say late 23-early 24 maybe? So its so strange that just that timeframe it deleted so many pictures. I usually back up on the computer but havent done it since 2016, think we trust icloud little too much. I put on the only original on icloud but was after i saw the pictures was gone.
