Cannot Connect to Wifi on my Iphone or Macbook Pro Since Updating 12/12/25

Since the latest update that I performed on Friday, I have not been able to connect to my wifi. Everything else in the house connects except my Macbook and my iphone. I've toggled on and off. I've forgot network. I've did a hard reset on my phone. I've performed all the steps I've found. I even tried to remove the latest update, but the ability is not available on either of the devices. At first I thought it was my router - our Internet is through my apartment complex, but that is not it. Also, it shows the Wifi is connected on both devices, but I am still getting This Site Can't Be Reached on my Mac and the Internet does not load at all on my phone.

No, we cannot. Our Internet provider is AnyWair, which is a MDS (Multi Dwelling Service provider) that caters to large apartment complexes and businesses. Unfortunately, it is forced on us to use and added to our monthly rent. There are routers in the ceilings throughout the property and in all common areas, but the access point inside our units are apparently behind the utility closet they keep locked. A tech finally called me back and said that for some reason mine had been turned off and they were able to turn it back on remotely. It's crazy because both of my TV's in my bedroom and living room worked. Thanks for trying to assist. :)

Grant, you ARE truly a gem! You were absolutely correct. I called my old IT guy at my old job, and he told me to use the 1.1.1.1, and I was able to get in then. He told me to see if I could get on anywhere else, so I went down to the resident common area conference room, but my WIFI popped right on as soon as I walked out the door. When I came back inside my unit, it went out again. We have AnyWair, which is an MDS provider that our complex forces us to use. :(. The technician called me back and said that, for some reason, the access point inside my apartment had switched off, and he was able to turn it back on remotely, and I was good to go! Thank you soooo much for all of your help. Happy Holiday!

<< I am still getting "This Site Can't Be Reached" on my Mac and the Internet does not load at all on my phone. >>

that suggests that you have lost your building-Router's login credentials or you have no valid DNS numbers to use. Try this:

Launch a browser and enter this easy to remember all-numeric IP address:

1.1.1.1 or if that throws an error, use:

http://1.1.1.1

in the address bar, and press return.

If in a Hotel or trying to access public Wi-Fi, and you get the local network login page, enter your credentials and proceed.

If you get the CloudFlare** splash page, your internet is working, but DNS lookup may not be working.

**CloudFlare is NOT part of the solution, they just own the easiest to remember all-numeric IP Address.

Seems odd.

Are you saying you do not have the luxury of doing a hard restart of the router....

In the past I have had a connection on the Mac but no internet—

>System Settings>Network>TCP/IP and Renew the DHCP Lease and compare your results.

does not speak to the iPhone— you can however "Reset Network Settings" and compare your results.
