The background in the Contacts app flickers or strobes.

This was a bug only Apple could fix, not under user control. It appears to be fixed for me in macOS 26.2, so the solution is to update your Mac.

This is a known problem. It is a bug related to "Liquid Glass".

I have yet to update to 26.2, which has just been released; maybe it fixes this.

I am updating on a second mac, as I write this, and will test to see if the problem went away or not (though I am not very hopeful).

I did not, and though I am aware of and have eaten a pluot, that is not the OP's username. I've also eaten a pulot, which is the OP's username (and is not a fruit, hybrid or otherwise).
