Samsung T7 SSD not mounting on Mac, works on iPhone

Hi

I have a problem with using my Samsung T7 2TB SSD.

When connected, it appears in Disk Utility, but does not get mounted. Even after trying to mount it manually, nothing happens. The disk appears greyed-out. First-Aid process says it failed in the end.

On the flipside, it connects to my iPhone 15PM without any issue, and soon after when I try connecting it the mac it magically connects once again.

The SSD is formatted to APFS, and it contains client data which I don't want to format.

Please provide solutions for the same.

Problem #1 is that you apparently have no backup of the data on this drive.

The first thing to do is to backup the data as soon as you can once you coax the Mac to mount this drive.

As for the inconsistent mounting of the drive on the Mac, since Disk Utility can see the drive, and the First Aid routine fails to correct whatever problem it discovers, then the only fix may be that you reformat and erase the drive. That will wipe all data from it.

However, before you resort to that, are you running any anti-virus, cleaning, security or VPN software on the Mac?

Very often these third-party apps will interfere with the proper operation of the OS. If you have them, then disable and/or uninstall them and reevaluate the problem.

Apple has built these protections into macOS and they are updated regularly.

In addition to D.I.Johnson's questions, do you use Samsung's provided disk utility/management software for the drive? If so, that might cause what you are seeing,
