Locked out of Reddit after changing password (lost 2FA + backup codes through Apple Passwords)

I changed my Reddit password yesterday. I store everything in Apple Passwords, including 2FA and backup codes. After changing the password, the Reddit entry in Apple Passwords was replaced with a new one that only has the password, my 2FA and backup codes are gone. I’ve changed my password before and this has never happened. Now when I try to log in, Reddit asks for a 2FA code I no longer have, so I’m locked out of a 15 year old account.

I’m completely stuck. Has anyone dealt with this before or know if there’s any way to recover access? I contacted Reddit and they cannot do anything, this is on Apple for replacing my info when I clicked "update password" which I have done many times before.

I don't use Reddit but if it is like Apple and Google and probably many other services that use two-factor, two-factor codes are single use. There's no point in keeping them.

While all these new password managers are convenient, I still keep backups of all my passwords the old-fashioned way, on a piece of paper.

This is only a general concept but I think you would have to use a Time Machine or other computer backup to replace your current Keychain folder ~/Library/Keychains/[UUID]/keychain-2.db with an older version.
