Your iPhone might be saving the sent email locally on the phone instead of on the server, or it might be looking for the sent mail in the wrong folder name (e.g., "Sent Messages" vs. "Sent").
Go to Settings.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Apps
Tap Mail > Mail Accounts.
Tap the email account you are having trouble with.
Tap Account (usually the email address) and then tap Advanced.
Under Mailbox Behaviors, tap Sent Mailbox.
Make sure the checkmark is next to a folder that is listed Under the Server (e.g., "Sent" under "On the Server"), not under "On My iPhone."
