Searching how to enable Mail extension in share menu? Here is a great work around.

  1. Download: Visit the eM Client download page for Mac and click the download button.
  2. Install: Open the downloaded file (usually a .dmg) and drag the eM Client icon to your Applications folder.
  3. Launch: Open eM Client from your Applications folder.
  4. Add Account:
    • Click the + Add account button in the menu.
    • Enter your email address and password for services like Gmail, Outlook, or Exchange.
    • eM Client will try to automatically configure settings.
    • You might need to grant permissions in your web browser (OAuth) for your email provider.

To start creating a Quick Action in Automator, open the app, select File > New, choose Quick Action, and then define what kind of data your action will receive (like files, text, or images) and in which apps it should appear, before dragging your desired actions into the workflow area and saving.

Workflow receives current = "files or folders"

in = "any application"

Image = "Share"

Color = whatever you want

Then drag the "Open Finder Item" action underneath and pick Open with: "eM Client". Save and name it something nice like "Share with eM Client".

So now if you right-click anything in the Finder the Quick Action submenu should have the new command. It will attach the file to a new email message in eM Client.

  1. Choose System Settings (or System Preferences in older macOS versions).
  2. In System Settings, click on General in the sidebar.
  3. Scroll down and click on Login Items & Extensions.
  4. Find the Extensions section and click on the category, which might be labeled Sharing.
  5. You should see a list of share extensions. Look for the entry for Mail.
  6. Ensure the checkbox next to Mail is selected (checked).

If the checkbox for Mail is already checked, or if the option is greyed out, there are a couple of additional things to check:

If another application has "hijacked" the default email setting, the Share menu's Mail option might not work correctly.

  1. Open the Mail application on your Mac.
  2. In the menu bar at the top, click Mail > Settings (or Preferences).
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Check the Default email reader setting and make sure it is set to Mail.

If the Mail option is still missing or greyed out in the Sharing extensions list, it might be a deeper system issue that can sometimes be fixed using a Terminal command to reset the sharing extensions. Be cautious when using Terminal commands.

  1. Open Terminal (you can find it in Applications > Utilities).
  2. Copy and paste the following command and press Enter:

pluginkit -e use -i com.apple.share.Mail.compose

The command should immediately enable the Mail compose share extension. You may need to restart the application you were trying to share from (e.g., Safari, Photos) to see the change, or you might even need to restart your Mac.
