Weekly subscription fee for AirTags

To add a bit to IdrisSeabright's reply, the Apple AirTags do not require a subscription. If you purchased this tag directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller, that tag DOES NOT have a subscription.

However, if you purchased it from another third-party source, it may be possible that you were scammed, and that, these Apple emails/text messages are fakes trying to gain information about your bank account. Do not be fooled; just delete these messages.

There is no subscription to use AirTags. How are you getting this receipt? By text? Email? Have you checked your bank/credit card account to see if the amount really is being debited?

This is the second post I've seen today where someone complains about an AirTag subscription. I suspect it's the latest scam. I do hate scammers.
