Apple Podcasts Not Syncing Private RSS Feeds Across Devices

I’m having an issue with Apple Podcasts and wanted to check whether this is expected or a limitation.

I subscribe to several podcasts using exclusive/private RSS feeds (feeds added outside the standard Apple Podcasts directory, such as member-only or paid feeds). These subscriptions work perfectly in the Apple Podcasts app on iOS — they appear in my Library and play without any problems.

However, these same subscriptions do not appear at all in:

  • The Apple Podcasts web player (podcasts.apple.com), or
  • The Apple Podcasts app in my Tesla, even though I’m signed in with the same Apple ID.

Only my regular Apple Podcasts catalog subscriptions sync across these platforms. Any show added via a private/external RSS feed seems to be iOS-only and doesn’t show up on the web or in Tesla.

Is this a known limitation of Apple Podcasts syncing, or is there a workaround to make private RSS feed subscriptions appear outside the iOS app?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Private RSS feeds do not sync through Apple Podcasts because Apple does not store or distribute external feed credentials. They remain local to the device. This is why they do not appear in the web player or Tesla’s app. Alternatives include manually adding the feed on each device or using a podcast app that supports cross-platform RSS syncing.
