Hey, I bought an MacBook Air M1 and I noticed that the opening angle is smaller than my old apple MacBook Air 2020 i3… is this normal?

Oh okay…. Because I’ve seen comparisons of both models and they had the same opening angle :/

Seems like you already have your answer, so I'm not sure why you are asking. There can always be some variations in the manufacturing of parts so there is always a possibility some may allow for a wider or narrower range of movement.

And the previous poster blindly uses AI chat results to answer people's questions without actually knowing if what they post is actually accurate. AI chats are known to hallucinate their responses. Take their information with a grain of salt. After all a broken analog clock is correct twice a day. This contributor also never follows up after their initial post.

As far as your question, I honestly do not know. I've never compared them side by side, but I've never really noticed any difference to make me want to do a direct comparison. There is a possibility the hinge on the i3 laptop is partially broken allowing it to lean farther back.....I've definitely seen that with the 2013-2017 non-USB-C models, but never with the USB-C models.

If you have been using the M1 for years, why worry about it now? If you just got this M1 used, then you may want to return it for a full refund.
