Why is the mouse cursor so tiny in screen sharing between two Macs?

Why is the mouse cursor so tiny in screen sharing? It's been this way forever, at least the last several OS's back to as far as Catalina. Is there any fix or hack for this?

The remote screen shows the cursor tiny when screen sharing. No amount of changing mouse size on the remote device works.

If programs like AnyDesk can get this right across a remote internet connection, WHY OH WHY can it not be corrected between two macs on a LOCAL network?? This is an insanely annoying aspect of trying to manage macs in the same location from one Mac when I need to.
