How to create a simple folder directly under Inbox in Mail?

How can I create a simple folder named friends directly under the Inbox mailbox in order to archive all the messages sent by my friends.

Is it possible to create a simple folder directly under the Inbox not a sub-mailbox and not an "intelligent folder".

If it is not possible then what is the best practice in this case, please?
