Apple TV on MacBook Pro HDR Playback issue

Has anyone here noticed that dolby vision/hdr video on the AppleTV application on the MacBook Pro has become very weak? I distinctly remember that it used to be very intense and made the movie pictures really pop out of the screen when watching dolby vision content. However, I recently tried watching something today and noticed the HDR video noticeabaly weaker than before? Dune P2 is a great example of this, the sand scenes used to very intense with the screen easily pushing the up to 1000 nits. However, now, if i watch the same movie on Apple TV, it looks so weak with it barely pushing 500 nits of peak HDR. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?? Here is the other weird thing, its only in the apple tv application. If I pull up HDR video on YouTube, the intensity returns so there is something seriously broken with the application. FYI I have a M3 Max Mackbook Pro
