Ripped CDs missing from iTunes/File Explorer

Today I ripped a cd using iTunes version 12.13.9.1. on a PC using Windows 10. However, the cd doesn't show in Windows File explorer in my default file location set in iTunes preferences nor in recently added in my Apple Music library. This problem has persisted for me for the past nine months. I've checked iTunes help and the process for ripping CDs hasn't changed, so I don't understand why I'm unable to find where iTunes imported my CD. One work around is to use Windows Media Player to rip the CD and then cut and paste the files to Apple Music. Can anyone explain what might be happening here? Thanks.

Windows, Windows 10 (19045)

Apple Music lacks a CD import function. One of many missing features. Once Apple Music (or Devices/TV) is installed iTunes is limited to managing audiobooks and podcasts. The tracks you ripped with iTunes are likely in an Audiobooks subfolder of your media folder and need to be dragged into Automatically Add to Music.
