Does declining a spam Calendar invite notify the sender?

Will clicking "decline" on a spam calendar invite send a message to the sender, thus letting them know that their spam is getting seen by a human?

For clarification, this is going into my default calendar. I am not subscribed to an unwanted calendar. What is happening is that an email is coming into my gmail account. Gmail filters the message to spam, but Apple's system sees the email as a calendar invite and creates the invite, which shows up on my phone's calendar. I can not delete the invite - that is not an option. I can "decline" but I worry I am just confirming my email address.

There seems to be no way to delete the calendar invite. Deleting the email does not do it.
