Unable to reply on Apple Support forum

I wanted to reply on the forum: I don’t want to set up my Face ID. But the website would not let me reply after I signed in.

I hid my settings app so that it wasn’t on my homepage so that I don’t have to see this stupid little red badge. I have an older iPhone so I don’t know if it will prompt me to set up my Face ID as much as it sounds like it’s prompting people with newer phones. I won’t upgrade my phone if that’s what I continue to hear.

So you were able to sign in and post this message, correct? From what device running what OS version?

If an individual thread won't let you reply, scroll to the bottom and look for something like this banner:

Threads get closed for age or lack of activity. The mods have not shared the time frame but observation says roughly three months. In my long tenure here, I have seen very few posters who come back weeks or months later to look for new answers to their posted queries.

If you come here from a search engine, you will see far too many locked threads. Search engines are not at all conducive to helping others here.

The better way to effectively help here:

—Bookmark this forum site map: Site Map - Apple Community

—Choose topic areas where you feel you can best help.

—Use the site map’ topic links to go directly to those topics.

—Work the first few pages with the newest posts.

That gives posters the most current information, and they can recognize your contributions with an upvote.
