iMac Photos not importing all photos from iPhone

iMac Photos will not import all photos from iPhone. Everything current.

iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26

iMac skipping photos usually happens because Photos sees only local images, thinks some are duplicates, fails with ProRAW/48MP formats, or the iPhone isn’t sending originals. Check iCloud originals, reset trust, switch to Keep Originals, or use Image Capture to compare — one of these always resolves the issue.

First, try this: Make sure the iPhone is locked before you pug it in so that you force Photos to request you to unlock it. I've heard that this helps.


Have you tried the app Image Capture that's in your Applications folder? See if that works any better. Still try the lock thing if this doesn't work at first.
