Why does GarageBand not offer an opt-out on the user patch save requirement???

I need help in disabling the user patch save requirement that GarageBand has. Basically, often after testing out different settings on an instrument track it requires a save to the User Patch section. It never offers an opt-out or to not save those changes. This causes me to end up in a loop because every time I click on that instrument it once again requires a new save. That essentially renders that instrument useless because I'm not going to keep fighting GarageBand over it. It's also an escalating problem as today it happened to an instrument that I use on nearly every song. I could and probably will reinstall it but this will happen again predictably. I've reported it to apple several times but I have little faith they'll fix this one.

Before anyone replies, please note that I'm running an M2 Air on Tahoe 26.1 with the latest GarageBand update. So, it's not a compatibility issue. It's a GarageBand issue and I need help. The biggest reason I have a MacBook Air is for GarageBand. I've been writing on it and a previous Air through GarageBand for years and this is a new problem that is a big one. Please help.

MacBook Air, macOS 26.1
