navigating to/from prior episodes on apple tv..

trying to watch Smoke, streaming apple tv on LG tv using magic remote. for every other streaming service i subscribe to i can press back button on remote and go back to the series, find prior episodes and select one. it seems on apple tv i have to go back to main menu to search for Smoke to see whole series and then select episode from there.... please tell me what im missing?
