All Music Disappears From iPhone 12 and Connected Devices.

Iphone 12. I erased (everything) an old iphone 6. I wanted to start using it as an iPod. When I started loading this phone from scratch all 600 songs disappeared from my wife's iPhone 12 and all of connected devices. What did I do and can I get those songs back. This is not a happy house right now.

Let me clarify. I have an old iPhone 6 running ios 12. I erased everything on the iPhone 6. I wanted to start using it as an iPod. I started from the beginning "Hello" screen. As the phone was reloading, all of the music on my wife's iphone 12 disappears. Over 600 songs. All music also disappeared from her connected devices. HELP!

Check if the music can re-download from Apple Music

If your wife has an Apple Music subscription, the songs may simply need to be re-added.

Try this on the iPhone 12:

  1. Open Apple Music
  2. Go to Library → Songs
  3. If empty → search for any song she originally added
  4. Try tapping + Add

If the “+ Add” button works normally → the library can be rebuilt from Apple’s servers.

This is the easiest case.
