MacBook Wi-Fi stays connected after closing the lid

When I close my MacBook, every time I used to think that as I lock, it goes to sleep and automatically cut off the network, but today when I checked my Wi-Fi, I realised that even after closing the lid, it is still connected to the network.... how can I fix this??

Your MacBook stays connected to Wi-Fi when closed because of Power Nap, network wake, Find My, or background apps.

To make Mac disconnect Wi-Fi when the lid closes:

Turn off Power Nap
Turn off Wake for network access
Turn off Find My Mac (optional)
Stop apps preventing sleep
Manually sleep the Mac when you want full disconnect
