Playlists wiped out by signing up for Apple Music

Hi there, I recently signed up for Apple Music for the very first time. As soon as I did, all of the songs in the playlists I’ve been building for years disappeared (from the playlist). So now the playlists are all empty even though the songs are still in my library. I’m not sure if this is a syncing issue or if there’s a way to restore my old playlists, but I’d really appreciate any help or guidance on how to recover them. Thank you!

To fix it:

  1. Turn Sync Library OFF
  2. Turn it back on and choose Merge
  3. Force-refresh the Sync Library
  4. Restore from a computer or another device if needed
  5. Apple Support can restore your Music Library from a server snapshot

Your playlists can be recovered in almost every case.
