AirPods not discoverable for sound output on LG Gram 17 laptop

My AirPods are not discoverable by my LG Gram 17 laptop for sound output, though they do work for sound input. I confirmed that most recent bluetooth driver was installed on laptop. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Remove and re-pair AirPods so Windows selects the Stereo profile

  1. Remove device
  2. Windows Settings → Bluetooth → AirPods → Remove
  3. Put AirPods in pairing mode
  4. Open the case → hold the back button → white light flashes
  5. Re-pair the AirPods
  6. Add Bluetooth device → Bluetooth → AirPods
  7. After pairing, go to:
  8. Sound Settings → Output devices

You should now see:

✔ "AirPods Stereo"

AND

✔ "AirPods Hands-Free"

Choose AirPods Stereo.
