Outsourced Apps Won't Launch on Tahoe 26.1

Just bought a brand new MacBook Air M4. Updated it to 26.1.0 and tried downloading some gaming apps - steam for example, but for some reason it won't launch. As a matter of fact, it looks like it's not even installed when I look for it in the library/application support folder and so on. Tried allowing downloads and installations outside the App Store, made sure rosseta is working but still nothing happens. Also tried the same thing with Epic Games and got the same result, anybody knows why is that happening?

Are you saying the Steam or Epic Games Store app won't launch, or is it an app you downloaded from those game stores not launching?

Did you check the Privacy & Security System Settings to see if you need to approve them (located near the bottom of the right pane). These apps tend to install bits into the lower level of macOS to run in the background.

Have you check the Steam forums or the Epic forums to see if others are having this problem?

Certain misconceptions that persist regarding the relationship between Apple Computer and applications.

These misconceptions often arise when third-party applications fail to function or meet user expectations.

Apple is responsible for addressing issues with its own applications & operating systems.

However, Apple cannot rectify user choices of third-party products  installed and used on their computers.

This responsibility lies solely with the third party to evaluate the performance of their products when used on an Apple Computer running the intended version of macOS.

In this case macOS 26.1 Tahoe

Be prepared, no doubt sometime soon there might be another update for Tahoe which, hopefully the Developer will have already Tested on their Game Applications
