Cannot delete Messenger from MacBook Pro

How do I delete the Messenger App on my MacBook Pro? It keeps messing up the messages on my iPhone. I have tried dragging it into the trash from the applications folder but it wont delete. Apple M1, Tahoe 26.1

If you mean the macOS Messages app, you cannot delete that (or any of the other core native apps).

Perhaps if you described how it’s misbehaving, then help could be provided.

If you mean a 3rd party app, what app?
