On a couple of occasions the email I have sent using my one and only (gmail) email address has arrived with the recipient showing the sender's address as an iCloud email address. I don't have an iCloud address. What's going on?

Yes you do have a iCloud address even though you might unaware of it and since you logged into Apple Communities and that would be your iCloud email address with PW.
Sorry, need that unpacking a bit. I signed into the community using my gmail address and Apple ID. What is "PW"?

Hmm, so my icloud email address is the same as my gmail address?? But the "wrong address" that's been appearing as the "sender" for emails I havesent is nothing like my gmail password.
Some people use gmail address as there login to iCloud and some will use the other icCoud addresses that Apple has assigned to them.
Which leaves my original question, why are one or two of my emails arriving with the recipient showing a sender's address that is not mine?
