“Hey Siri” and my phone activates instead of my HomePod.

can i change the awake word on my home pods? It’s so annoying when I say “ hey siri” to my home pod and my phone activates instead? I am ready to quit using Home Pod and go back to Alexa because every time I say “ Hey Siri” to my kitchen HomePod, my phone turns on instead of the home pod. Any ideas on what to do?

This is strange. Here’s some things you can try:

Set up the HomePod to understand your voice and/or turn on Personal Content in the HomePod’s settings
Turn on Listen for “Siri” or “Hey Siri” in the HomePod's settings
If your iPhone’s screen is on, or you're holding it, that might cause Siri to listen with your iPhone instead of other devices.
Restart them
