iOS 26.1 breaks useful behaviour in iOS Mail app

When I select Move in the Mail app in iOS 18.5 it suggests the most likely destination folder. I find this behaviour useful because for most messages it avoids the need to search for a folder.

I recently upgraded my phone. The new phone comes with iOS 26.1 installed. This no longer works as before. Instead it requires me to find and select the destination folder for every message that I move.

How can I reinstate the previous behaviour?

Please do not suggest mailbox rules as an alternative. I have literally hundreds of folders which would require hundreds of rules.

Tested on:

• iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 18.5 - works as expected
• iPad Pro, 5th generation, iOS 18.5 - works as expected
• iPhone 17 Pro Max, iOS 26.1 - no longer works
