Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Probably.

Coffee is acidic. The screen itself is likely to fail as is eventually the logic board.

Is it possible to have it fixed for a decent price?

The cost of a screen alone is close to $600.

If the Logic board goes too then double the cost.

Or could I get trade in value to purchase a new one?

It's probably not worth much as a trade in.

You might deliver it to Apple for evaluation and cleaning - if cleaning is a service - otherwise eventually that MBP is gonna go away. Make sure you keep your data backed up regularly and start saving for a replacement Mac. You might check with your homeowner insurance carrier to see if your personal electronics are covered against this sort of incident.

That is a shame because this computer is only 2-3 years old. Sorry this happened, accidents do happen.

The fact that it soaked in and smells like coffee is very bad. This laptop will fail, maybe sooner than later, maybe not.

Here's what I suggest:

• Connect Time Machine backup drives (2) and do Time Machine backups every hour when possible. Do a third backup using cloning tools like SuperDuper or CCC. Having multiple and independent backups is good strategy, especially when you know a failure is imminent.
• I recommend contacting an independent Apple Authorized Service Provider and inquire about some sort of diagnosis and cleaning. This will require opening up the device and your chances of a more flexible repair shop are better with the independent AASP, the Apple Store may be very constrained in what they can do, while the independent shops can often offer something on "best efforts basis" with no warranty. But the AASP are certified by Apple. I have had success with them.
• I agree with D.I. Johnson, start saving now for a replacement laptop. If brand new ones are too costly, try OWC or Apple for lower cost certified reconditioned ones, they come like new and with a warranty.
