Apple ID email change not reflecting in the sign-in dialogue box on my MacBook

Using my MBP I have just edited my account details to change my email account. In the process it asked for a new password, but it reported an error, so I couldn't apply a new password to the new email address. I managed to change the password (but can't remember how, after trying a few things).

Looking at my account details on my iPhone it shows the new email address under Sign-In & Security, so it appears the new email address has registered and been proliferated out to my phone. As this is a one access for all sign in, I thought this would work for all access requirements.

However, when I try to sign into my Apple account on the MBP, using Safari to access account.apple.com, the dialogue box brings up the old email address. I have to click the sign on with a different account link to use the new email address. Shouldn't the new one be sed by this dialogue box?

Also, when trying to add Apple Music as a service to Sonos, it says it doesn't recognise the email and/or password. Shouldn't Apple Music be updated as well? Or does that take ages to happen?

It's very frustrating.

Thanks

Steve

Safari is still auto-filling your old Apple ID email because it’s saved in AutoFill — deleting those entries fixes the sign-in dialog issue. Apple services (like Sonos Apple Music) do not automatically update after an Apple-ID email change; you must remove and re-add Apple Music in Sonos. The new Apple ID email is active, but your Mac and external services need manual refresh steps.

Make sure your new information is also set on your card in Contacts.

Safari uses the Passwords application for automatically filling in sign-in information. Open the Passwords application and see if there is an entry for the web site you are visiting. If there is, it will show the sign-in information for that web site. This may contain old information, in which case click on Edit at the top right and enter the new information. You may have to do that for any site using your email address as part of the sign-in.

This web page tells you how to change the email address with Sonos --> https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/change-your-sonos-account-email-address

Thanks. The issue of having to click on another account to be able to log in has been solved.

The Sonos issue is still outstanding - it isn't my login to Sonos that is the issue. I can't attach my Apple Music sub as a service to Sonos because it complains about the email and password when I try to connect to Apple Music, which should be the same as my Apple ID, I think.
