I have commenced an upload to iCloud of my desktop folders in error. This has links to my document folders. My iCloud storage will not have enough space for my RAW files and Lightroom catalogues. How do I return to my locally stored folders and stop the iCloud sync without losing anything please.

Turn OFF iCloud Drive → Desktop & Documents to stop uploads.
macOS creates local copies automatically and stops syncing.
All files remain safe as long as you verify the Archive folder before deleting anything.
Lightroom catalogs and RAWs will remain local and no longer attempt to upload.
