Issue with MacBook Air which resulted in perpetual loading at the Login Screen.
I have had a strange occurrence while using my MacBook Air.
The exact model of the device I can not say for certain (maybe a 2017 model?), only that it is of such age that it would have an Intel Chip.
When I was last using it, the device abruptly froze and became unresponsive. I rebooted the laptop however it would not boot up beyond the black screen.
I left it for a while and when I next tried it it would successfully power up and bring me to the login screen. I tried then to input my password, however the the screen would just continuously load. Eventually even the cursor would become it's loading wheel as if it were processing a matter. It would seemingly stay like this until my screen eventually fell asleep.
I have tried multiple methods to remedy the problem: Booting the device into Safe Boot mode, Resetting the System Management Controller going to Disk Utility to perform First Aid on the Volumes, holding the Shift key to stop apps from launching during login.
But all do not seem to have made any effect on the problem.
Granted, I shan't deny the possibility that I did something wrong in the steps (for example, there was no indication that the SMC reset went through, or if I was holding Shift at the right time or for the right length).
However, I was just wishing to reach out and ask if there was any other known methods to fix this issue.
