How to disable new features and open Mail app on MacBook Pro with macOS Tahoe?

Using MacBook pro OS Tahoe. Suddenly cannot open mail app Getting messages on screen telling me how useful new procedures can help me. I just want to open my mail box and do not want all the extras. How can I get my mailbox open.
