Cannot Login to Apple ID, with error : "Digit Verification codes cannot be sent to this phone number at this time. Please try again later."

Problem : Cannot Login to Apple ID

Actions:

1. Tried logging into my Apple ID on my iPhone, but it didn't work.

2. Tried logging in using a browser, but it didn't work.

Details Case:

Last night, I tried logging into my Apple ID and it requested an OTP code. After waiting for a while, it didn't appear on the registered number. I tried requesting it again. After 3 attempts, the 4th OTP finally came through, but it was too many. After I tried entering the latest OTP, it said, "Please use the previous OTP." I tried entering the old and latest OTPs, but it didn't work. Now, when I try to log in, I get the error "Digit Verification codes cannot be sent to this phone number at this time. Please try again later."

Please help me find a solution to this problem, We are waiting for suggestions and fixes for this error, hopefully it will help us..

Your phone number has been temporarily rate-limited by Apple due to multiple OTP attempts. Wait 8–24 hours, try using a trusted device to generate a verification code, confirm your trusted number, or use account recovery if no trusted device is available. If the block persists longer than 24 hours, contact Apple Support to reset the rate limit.

If you see. “Verification codes can't be sent to this phone number at this time. Please try again later,”:

1) Wait 8 hours and try again. Maybe it really does mean not at this particular time.

2) Use this link to check the status of Apple’s various services and servers —>

Apple - Support - System Status

3) Disable entirely any VPN you are using.

4) Try clicking on, “Cannot use this number?”

Alternatively, get a code on a trusted device. Read this article Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

If you had set up an Account Recovery Contact ( Set up an account recovery contact - Apple Support ) you can also get a code that way.

If none of those work you may need to use account recovery. How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple Account password - Apple Support

Note that this can take quite some time, so it is worth simply waiting a bit first and see if you can get a code later.
