Mac mini internal storage iphoto

Using Mac osx m4 mini - internal storage is full and my photos library is too big, is it better to use an external usb c, or nas drive?


i have two users accounts to do a apply this to or is there another solution. The requirements are

-redundancy through Time Machine backup.

-multiple user accounts library’s.


or is there another solution away from iPhoto ?

A Photos Library will have problems on a NAS network. See this:

            Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac - Apple Support


Use a fast SSD and format it in APFS.


If you're using iCloud Photos, then it is especially simple, since you can just fill the library from there. You can see this:

It's best to use an external drive that's connected directly to your Mac. It should be formatted either APFS for solid state drives or OS X Extended (journaled) for rotating disk drives. Any other format will compromise the library..
