Apple Watch black screen and voice

My daughter’s Apple Watch seems to have a weird voice control in place and the screen is totally black. I am not able to do anything on the watch and it also won’t sync to my phone as it normally would. When I press a button I get a robotic voice telling me the time etc. any advice greatly appreciated
