Apple Watch clock stops running (until I press the button)

I have an Apple Watch, Series 5, with the latest version of watchOS (10.6.1) which since a few weeks is activing very strange: the clock stops seemingly for no reason and doesn't start again until I press the Crown button.

I've restored it, repaired it, and looked everywhere but I can't figure out why it does this. Does anyone have any idea?

Try to disable Always On, but keep Wake on Wrist Raise enabled. Then test if the watch display comes on, if you raise your wrist.

Did you already check the Battery Health in Settings/Battery?

Do other apps work, when the display is in use, or do they also pause in-between?

Do you remember the Battery Health status? If it is below 80%, the battery needs to be replaced.

If your watch is shutting down by itself, this is clearly a sign for that.

I had to do this after almost 3 years of usage, when I had to charge my Series 5 twice a day.

Now, after handing it down to another family member and another 2 years of usage, it is down to 80% again.
