Weather Complication Ultra Watch 2

Is there a bug with the weather complication on the Apple Watch Ultra? My watch will not mirror my iPhone current location in the weather app at all when I am in my home town. No matter how many times I reset location settings, restart both devices, delete the app, change default location… the watch still holds on to a town I was in over 24 hours ago. My series 8 watch shows my current location fine, and maps on the Ultra watch also shows me in the correct place. I’m also using a third party weather app as an alternative and that is accurate. I’ve even gone multi modular and chosen the Apple weather complication and Weather Mate and both show different locations.

There must be a bug surely?’

Did you try to set up the watch as a new device after unpairing and connecting it again to your iPhone?

This would be a way to rule out defective data in the backup, which might cause this issue.

You will lose your created Watch faces and might have to set up your Wallet app on the watch again.

I guess it's time to use the Feedback and report this directly to Apple Techs, must be a Weather App issue, if 3rd party weather complications do work correctly.

Did you try to choose the name of your Hometown instead of Current Location in the Settings/Weather/Complication/ on you watch?

Or delete the name of the wrong location in the list?

Full reset carried out, set up as a new watch… and I’m back home!!

Yes, if I choose a specific location it syncs absolutely fine. If I turn off “current location” it also reverts to the first location on the list fine.

I fear this is another full reset, that fixed it for a few weeks the last time.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I’ve done that a few times with no success.

Up until Friday it showed my current location fine, but when I came home from work it stopped. On Monday it did update when I went into work again, but again when I came home it’s stuck on my work location which is 24 miles away.

Can you see your current location on your watch, if you open the Maps app?

I honestly can’t remember if I used the back up or not, but I think I’m doing the reset and as a new device now!

Watch is just over a month old as well 🤦🏻‍♂️!!

On my Ultra 2, the Apple Weather app is showing my location correctly.

In the WatchApp-> Weather the Default City is set to Current Location, on the iPhone -> Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Location Services -> Weather -> Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App or Widgets"

Did you already try to force restart your iPhone and Apple Watch?

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

To force restart your watch, press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.
