NEW EMOJIS THEY NEED!!
"Need" is relative to the person who thinks it's important.
-ice coffee & matcha
Ice coffee and mocha? Regardless, iced coffee has already been submitted and declined.
Mocha is tagged under coffee as the same emoji. ☕️ Meaning, you'll never see a separate emoji for mocha. Per an example of their submission rules: Squirrel is already often represented by 🐿️ chipmunk.
-sweater
Already submitted and declined.
-earmuffs
Nothing under the proposals page for earmuffs or headband.
-more global monuments
Much too vague. From their submission page: The Tokyo Tower🗼(a specific building) does not justify adding the Eiffel Tower.
You can check the proposals page to see what's already been submitted for review. The page takes a long time to load.
The reason that emojis are handled by a third party is so they are compatible across all device manufactures. Emojis are not actually pictures that are sent, they are only character codes, just like the keys on your keyboard, and each code has a emoji assigned to it by the Unicode Consortium that appears on your screen.
If each manufacturer used a different code to represent an emoji, then could you imagine if you sent a ThumbsUp emoji from one device and that code was used on another device as ThumbsDown. That would not be good.
Newer iPhones do have a feature called Genmoji that allows you to create any picture you want that appears like an emoji on any device, but technically it is not an emoji and just a picture you can send in apps like Messages.

Let's just translate the entire English language into emoji. Think how much fun that would be!

I had a friend who studied Japanese. She explained to me how challenging learning to read is, the amount of memorizing kanji. Native speakers of Japanese take proficiency exams so that they can document for their abilities for employers. I imagine Chinese is even harder that way. Beautiful though Chinese, Japanese, and Ancient Egyptian are, I certainly don't want to give up the ease of an alphabet.
