Universal Control works intermittently between MBP M4 and Mac Studio M3

The MBP in clamshell mode and the Mac Studio are less than a foot apart, both having the latest Tahoe OS. I have 2 desktop monitors one connects to the MBP through the Displayport and the other connects to the Mac Studio through the Displayport as well. The magic keyboard and the trackpad are connected to the Mac Studio. When the universal control works, it works perfectly. Copy and paste, drag/drop files, mouse/keyboad transition between screens seamlessly, but every hour or so the keyboard and mouse would stop responding, sometimes it quickly resolves and the connection resets by opening the laptop, other times, I have to open the Display settings on both machine and clicking on the Arrange button to get the machines to see each other again. I have suspicions the iphone may be the culprit but it's not consistent. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I tried hardwiring kb and trackpad to the Mac Studio but that did not yield positive result, the Universal Control lasted for about 30 minutes then the kb and trackpad disappear from both machines for a minute. I noticed, when the UC seized to work, the monitors were rearranged by the OS in the Display Arrange function. After trying different things for a couple of weeks, I think I might have found a workaround. The kb and trackpad paired to the MBP. I then paired a separate trackpad to the Mac Studio.

Just in case:

Mac Studio - M3 Ultra - Tahoe 26.1 - Awesome Trackpad (ver 8.7.1) - 1 monitor through displayport, 1 TV in HDMI

MBP - M4 Max - Tahoe 26.1 - Magic Trackpad (ver 3.1.8) - Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (ver 2.0.6) - 1 monitor through displayport
