Reminders vanished after syncing with iCloud

I have a Mac and an iPhone, and the reminders on the two devices were not synced. I turned on iCloud sync, and the reminders from the iPhone appeared on the Mac, but the existing reminders on the Mac disappeared, and I can't find them anywhere.

These reminder lists were very important, and I need to retrieve them.
