uploading my itunes music library to Icloud

I just bought 2 TB of cloud storage to back up my new Iphone 17 phone. I have about 70gigs of songs on it. I was able to back up my photos but not my music. After spending 2 hours with Apple yesterday, I was told I cant backup my music unless I buy a subscription to Apple music, which I dont want to do or buy a subscription to Apple match which I dont want to do. I just want to have a place to store my music. Is this possible without paying additional fees to Apple? Whats the purpose of buying all this storage if I can only backup certain items on my phone?
