Word icon changed to OneNote in menu bar, unable to open Word documents on macOS 15.7.1

MacBook Pro running macOS 15.7.1. Updates showing this morning for both Word and One note applications. Installed both and found the Word icon had changed to OneNote while OneNote also remained as a separate application. Hovering over the erroneous Word/OneNote icon, the text Microsoft Word is displayed but when I click on it, OneNote opens.

When I try to open a pre-saved Word document from Finder, it now opens in Pages rather than Word.
