Workout Notifications No Longer Announced

When working out with my Apple Watch 8 and AirPods Pro 2, I am no longer receiving mile split notifications during my running workouts. Yes, the settings are correct across my watch, watch app, and AirPods. I will get other notifications (have experimented with adding pacing alerts, which worked fine, for example). My voice announce notifications are set to on, my splits are set to announce, etc. I'm running the most up to date software (os26). However, if I bring my phone with me on my workouts (which I almost never do) I notice that I WILL get split notifications. It used to be the exact opposite, in the beforetime of os25. If I had my phone with me, I would not get split notifications, so I had to turn off my phone or unpair from bluetooth to get my headphones to pair to my watch and give me notifications. Now, the opposite is true. Has anyone else run into this? At a loss of how to solve.
