What do I do if i tried resetting my airpod case and ome of my airpods is saying its charged but wont turn on. And its been like this for a year and nothing is helping.

I’ve had these hand me down AirPods for like a year, and the original owner took really good care of them, and so did I but one of them, despite my persistence, shows up charged in the case and on screen. (It’s says 100% and the case is green when it’s in their by itself) but when I try to use it, it doesn’t connect or make noise at all. I tried resetting the case and cleaning it and nothing is working and I don’t have the money for a new pair.

See what to do: If your left or right AirPod isn't working - Apple Support for tips.

or

If the AirPods firmware needs updating: See: About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support

They will update automatically (eg: overnight, given the right conditions) if iOS version on iPhone is up-to-date.

Else: As you have had the AirPods for a year and still can't use the AirPods, they may still be linked to the previous owner's account. Seems you may need the help of the previous owner of the AirPods ? The original owner may be needed, in order to un-pair them from Find My, so you can pair them to your own account.

The owner is the one who can can help reset the AirPods, and pair them to your own device. If they haven't already been removed, only the owner can remove the AirPods from their account, so you can set them up for yourself.

Otherwise you would have to use them like borrowed AirPods, and set them up every time you want to use them.
