Phone number not associated with my phone

~ 36 hours ago I transferred my cellular phone service to a new provider (using eSIM) and now see the following message on my iPhone 11 running iOS 18.7.1 "This number is registered to your Apple Account, but is not associated with this phone.  You can keep using the number for iMessage and FaceTime until it expires." My Apple Account shows the correct phone model and serial number and my email and phone number. I've turnoff iMessage and FaceTime and restarted the phone and also Reset Network Settings, but I still see the same message. My cell carrier suggested contacting Apple if the message didn't disappear on its own within a day. How can I fix this? What's the risk of doing nothing?

Seems you may still need to sign-in to your iPhone with your correct Apple Account details ?

Those were great steps to take ... thank you for sharing that.

Are we talking about the Apple Account details that are in your phone setttings (mentioned above) ?

or

You may want to log-in to your Apple Account onliine to check whether the details need updating there.

Log-in: https://account.apple.com/

(It may take up to 24 hours for any changes you make to appear everywhere they are in use)

Sorry I don't know for sure. We'd need to find the cause of the issue you have.

(The message is the effect, and will likely disappear once what causes it has been dealt with).
