iPhone 17 Pro Max fails to connect for Macbook Pro scanning unless rebooted

This is driving me crazy, I'm on the verge of walking away for this feature and using a separate APP which I do not want to do. But it keeps failing to connect and seem to be able to getting it going again after I reboot my phone. I just upgraded from a 12 Pro Max, it was happening with that phone as well but not as often. The message I get is "Time Out, Failed to connect" If i shut off my WiFi on the phone I get an instant message back saying cannot connect which I would expect.

Anyone else seeing this. I"ve done the shutting off and turning back on of WiFi and Bluetooth on both phone and computer with no luck. The phone has to cycle on and off.

Although you might think the problem is with the iPhone (because rebooting it resolves the issue), the problem could well be instead with the Mac.

Does the problem persist when booted in Safe Mode or when logged in as a different user? (You can create a new user just to test this and then remove that new user afterwards.)

Can you run the free diagnostic tool Etrecheck and post its report here? The report reveals no personal information.
