The new email categories in iCloud

In the new iCloud email categories, I accidently sent my incoming emails to the junk folder. When selecting an email to recover, there is the option to send the email to the inbox. In doing so, does iCloud remove the junk status, allowing all future emails to appear in the inbox as received? There is no "not junk" option on the drop downs. If moving the email from the junk folder to the inbox does not remove the "junk tag," is there a workaround to remove the tag?
