Siri no longer plays correct songs from Spotify (artist misidentification since iOS 26.0)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a persistent issue with Siri and Spotify since updating to iOS 26.0 (and it continues on 26.1 RC).

Whenever I ask Siri to play specific songs on Spotify, it almost always plays something completely different — sometimes by a totally unrelated artist, sometimes a song that just happens to have a similar title or number in its album name.

For example, when I said:

“Hey Siri, play Shadow by SEVENTEEN”,

it played I Want Your Love by a completely different artist whose album title included the number 17.

This problem happens with any song request through Spotify — not just specific artists or genres. If I use the same commands with another music app, Siri plays the correct song immediately. That makes me think this is an issue with how Siri’s media intent parsing sends data to Spotify rather than a problem with Spotify itself.

I’ve already tried every fix I could find:

• Reinstalled Spotify and restarted my iPhone.
• Reset Siri & Dictation History.
• Deleted Siri data from iCloud.
• Toggled “Use with Siri Requests” off and on.
• Changed region and language settings.

Nothing has worked — Siri continues to misinterpret artist and song names when using Spotify, even after corrections like “That’s not the song.”

Could someone from Apple confirm whether this bug has been acknowledged or if there’s a fix planned for an upcoming iOS release?

It’s making voice commands unusable for Spotify playback.
