iCloud Automatic Backup Not Working on iPhone 17 Pro Despite Sufficient Storage

Hi everyone,

I recently got a new iPhone 17 Pro and set it up using the phone-to-phone transfer method. I turned on automatic iCloud backup last week, but it still shows that my phone has never been backed up.

I’ve checked the following:

  • I’m on the 2 TB Family Plan, so there’s plenty of storage available.
  • The phone is always plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi overnight.
  • iCloud Backup is toggled on under Settings → iCloud → iCloud Backup.

Despite all this, no backup has ever completed.

Has anyone else had this issue when setting up a new iPhone for the first time? I have tried signing out of iCloud and resetting setting or should I start a manual backup first?

I had attempted to manually back up overnight but it was still back uping up 7 hours - I have 359gb of data on my phone now.

Thanks in advance for your help!
